Gary's Story

Gary called to express his satisfaction with our Barlow team.

“I drove every day from Oxnard to Van Nuys the see my wife in your hospital until you closed for visitors. After that, we were able to text and facetime and that helped a lot. It’s not like person-to-person but I was able to communicate with my wife and the nurses. Every day the nurses knew what was going on and they could explain it to me in layman’s terms. I really appreciated that.”

“And the good thing is you could see the progress. She was off the vent in 5 or 6 days. I am so happy we found Barlow Respiratory Hospital. You did a magnificent job! I particularly want to say thank to Dr. Kashani, her primary doctor, and to Dr. Adelson and Meila the Case Manager. They all did so much. Everyone did.”

Gary and Rachel have been married 45 years and he has some wisdom on what has helped them succeed for all these years, “I found the best way to make our marriage work is two words:
‘Yes, Dear.’ That means ‘I love you.’ I appreciate all you did for my wife.”
